Cancellation Policy

Due to the limited accommodation capacity and the remote nature of Christmas Island, Mango Tree Lodge applies the following cancellation and refund policy:
Cancellations made 0–7 days prior to scheduled arrival: No refund (100% of booking value forfeited)
Cancellations made 8–30 days prior to scheduled arrival: 50% refund of total booking value
Cancellations made 31 days or more prior to scheduled arrival: Full refund

All cancellation periods are calculated based on calendar days prior to the scheduled check-in date.
Refunds will be processed using the original payment method and may take several business days to appear, depending on your financial institution.
Booking fees charged by third-party platforms may be non-refundable and are subject to the terms of those providers.

Mango Tree Lodge is unable to provide refunds or credits in the event of:
• Flight cancellations
• Flight delays
• Missed connections
• Changes to airline schedules
• Inability to travel due to airline, weather, or operational issues
Given the remoteness of Christmas Island and the limited flight services available, we strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel. Insurance should cover cancellations, delays, medical needs, and unforeseen travel disruptions.

General Terms & Conditions

1. By making a reservation with Mango Tree Lodge, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all guests and bookings, whether made directly with us or via third-party booking platforms. Mango Tree Lodge is a boutique accommodation provider operating in a remote island location. As such, availability of services, supplies, transport, and staff may be affected by factors outside our control. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during your stay.

2. Bookings & Payment All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation. Full payment will be required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed. Prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. A valid contact number and email address must be provided at the time of booking. Mango Tree Lodge reserves the right to refuse or cancel a booking if payment is not received, or if booking details are incomplete or misleading.

3. Check-In & Check-Out – Check-in: From 2:00 PM Check-out: By 10:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out requests are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

4. Guests are expected to respect other guests, staff, and the peaceful environment of the lodge. Mango Tree Lodge is not a party venue. For the health and amenity of other guests, smoking or vaping is not permitted inside rooms, on balconies, or in indoor or outdoor common areas. A designated smoking and vaping area is located at the front of the property. Any damage, loss, or excessive cleaning required as a result of guest actions may be charged to the guest.

5. While every reasonable care is taken to ensure guest safety and comfort, Mango Tree Lodge is not liable for loss, damage, or theft of personal property. Activities undertaken on Christmas Island (including swimming, snorkeling, diving, hiking, and wildlife observation) are done at the guest’s own risk. Guests are encouraged to follow local advice, signage, and safety guidance at all times.

6. Mango Tree Lodge is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We may collect personal information including Name, Contact details (email, phone number), Booking details, and Payment information (processed securely via third-party providers). Your information is used to process and manage bookings, communicate important stay information, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, and improve our services and guest experience. We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared only with payment processors, booking platforms, and regulatory authorities where required by law. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access. You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting Mango Tree Lodge directly.

7.Mango Tree Lodge reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions, Cancellation Policy, and Privacy Policy at any time. The most current version will always apply to new bookings.
